1.6: Monsters Under the Bed

HEEEEEEEYYYY!!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful, like, 7 months or whatever it's been since I last updated. Sorry for such a huge delay. I was without internet for a while - needed to "unplug" for a bit and deal with some real life stuff. But all is well :) Life is wonderful!! I am finally at a place where I can get back in the swing of things and update my stories. First up I thought I would pay the Stickly family a visit so let's get this show on the road! For a quick recap - Stick and Holly are working toward having 10 children. So far we're at 7/10 - Eliza, Chuckie, Beebe, Jazz, Judy, Ginger & Didi.

Stick: Honey....who is this strange young woman sitting at our table enjoying this delicious dinner that you made?

Holly: It's our daughter Beebe, dear.

Stick: Oh...but....that's not how she looked yest-

Holly: Stick, darling, please just eat your dinner.

As you may or may not remember, I ended our last chapter with a picture of a newly aged Beebe and her makeover, noting that the look would not stay. I have a mod that allows me to have more than 8 sims per household that works wonderfully, though it isn't flawless. Unfortunately, if you go into CAS to edit a sim when you have more than 8 sims, when you return to your family extra sims will disappear until you are down to just 8 again. After I gave her her makeover, I panicked when I returned to find some were missing. So unfortunately, until a sim reaches adulthood and moves out and/or I'm down to 8 sims or less in the house, they are just stuck the way they age up. Blarg. I actually don't mind her hair too much because I kind of like that it has the red and blonde together...I might leave it. We'll see.

Oh look! A baby! This here is Stick & Holly's 8th baby, ANOTHER little girl named Helga! I forgot to get labor pics cause I fail.

Helga is named after this little fireball from Hey Arnold, Helga Pataki! I can't recall if I ever mentioned this or not, but Hey Arnold was my favorite Nicktoon back in the day <3

Wasting no time, Stick & Holly got right to work on baby #9! Stick was halfway through his adult life stage after all! Holly, however, is only halfway through her young adult stage. Baaaahhh. I hate when one sim gets soooo far behind the other in age.

Toilet confetti and a smiling mama means that their little romp was successful! Also, as you may have noticed, there have been some updates made to the Stickly house. All of the bathrooms have been redone and the whole house has wood flooring now as opposed to any carpet. (Our entire house minus the bathroom has carpet, a majority of it is white/off white. I've learned that I loathe carpet...it gets sooooo dirty sooooo easily. And who seriously puts carpet in a kitchen. Ugh. Anyway....I've become a little prejudice against carpet and haven't put it in any of my sims houses lately... O.o)

Holly was eager to share the news with her hubby but he was fast asleep. She smiled and climbed in bed with him, the good news could wait until morning.

A little early morning baby duty with her 9th bump in tow. Holly is SUCH a devoted, good mommy <3

Since it was 5:00 in the morning, and she was already up, Holly decided to make the family some breakfast. See what I mean? True devotion. Best mommy sim I think I've ever had in my game!

Nah, that's cool. I just bought you guys a new dishwasher, but yeah go ahead and keep doing the dishes by hand in the sink. So glad I spent the money.

I purchased a camera and had Stick & Holly take a new, larger selfie to hang above their bed. Have I mentioned how much I love the photos in this game? So much more clear and I love that they don't just have a generic washed out background. Overall a MAJOR improvement from TS3! Only thing I wish is that there were more options like in TS3...a romantic selfie, a selfie with funny faces, that they would put their arms around each other, etc. I liked the poses more in TS3 but the quality is better in TS4 by a long shot.

Eliza invited this cutie named Morgan over after school one day. They instantly hit it off and I started shipping them hardcore...I've gotta start thinking about spouse options for the kiddos, after all! These two girls were super cute to watch. Also, I have to admit I like the idea that I could potentially have them both pregnant at the same time cutting the time it takes to have 10 babies in half...

Beebe: It was like...it was like I woke up one morning and I didn't even know who I was anymore! It's like I was suddenly a completely different person! I just...I can't even...you guys just don't know. You just don't know! It was like a hellish nightmare of uncertain identity! Like...how could the Watcher be so cruel? To make me look one way and then the next day I look completely different! Like it was all some sort of.....sick JOKE! *Sob*

Judy: ...what the heck did I just walk into?

Eliza: Oh Beebe's just having a teenage crisis, Judy. Just sit down and eat your breakfast.

Chuckie: I really want a brother... :<

Eliza is battling hardcore for that heirship! She is always stepping up and helping out with the babies when Holly is too exhausted or tending to other household duties. Add in her cutie spouse option and I'm really struggling to not play favorites.

What does this sad lip wibble and PJ run to mom and dad's room signify?!

That there's a monster under Jazz's bed, of course!

Jazz: Daddy! There's a monster under my bed! It has long tentacles that keep reaching out to try to get me! I almost didn't even make it downstairs, it tried to grab my legs. But I was brave...I was BRAVE, daddy! I FLEW off of the bed onto the floor and told that monster 'My daddy is gonna come get you! You just wait, you're no match for MY daddy! He's a SUPER HERO!' You're going to come spray it with Monster-Away, right daddy? Please daddy?!

Stick: *Yawn* Yes, baby girl, daddy will come spray the monster. <3

This was the first time I've experienced the monsters, so I went up to Jazz's room to see what it....GAH! What IS that?!

By the time Stick got up to her room the monster had temporarily retreated under the bed.

Stick: What the...? There's not even a monster under here... *Sprays randomly at nothing*

Everything was back to normal, Jazz returned to bed and Stick went to take care of that stink cloud radiating off of him. All is good, right? Of course not! The monsters struck again, this time under Ginger's bed! This was just the beginning of what I've determined is possibly THE most annoying feature in the history of The Sims. Monsters appear WAY too frequently, and on top of that when it happens the kids run around and WAKE UP EVERY TEEN/ADULT IN THE HOUSEHOLD to come spray it. When this happens multiple times a night, my poor teens and adults don't get ANY sleep which makes them super tired all the time and omg it's awful. I LOVE the monsters under the bed feature, but holy crap they need to dial it back a bit.

And then this happened. As soon as Stick finished spraying the monster, Judy came up and gave him a big hug. I'm not sure if it's an automatic response to the spraying (Jazz didn't do it, but she also wasn't in the room) or if it just happened to be random luck, but I thought it was super precious.

Judy: Oh daddy, thankyouthankyouthankyou!!! I knew I could count on you!

Stick: You're welcome sweetheart...daddy will always protect you.

Ok. Maybe it's not so bad. <3

It was Jazz's turn to invite a friend over after school. This little guy's name is Sam (I think) and as soon as he came over he headed straight for the babies!

His visit came just in time for Didi to spring out of her bassinet into childhood glory! She rolled the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration along with the Loner trait.

Meanwhile, down in the kitchen, poor Holly's exhaustion got the better of her. Poor thing hardly got any sleep during the monster siege the night before.

Sam: So you're telling me, if you're chosen as heir, you'll pick me to be your spouse?

Jazz: Yes.

Sam: And we have to have 10 kids?

Jazz: Yes.

Sam: Wait...does that mean there will be lots of woohoo?

Jazz: ...um...yes...?

Sam: I'm so down! I LOVE cake!

Jazz: Wait...wait...Sam...do you know what woohoo is?

Sam: Of course! It's cake! I know that because every time my mom makes my dad's favorite cake he says 'You are so gonna get some woohoo tonight!'

Ahh, childhood oblivion.

The house has grown as has the family. Each kid has their own room because I spoil my simmies. Also...that's a lot of windows. Have I mentioned before I have zero building skills? Cause...I have zero building skills.

Later that night the monsters came to visit. Again. Poor Jazz's bed seems to get it the worst. I was starting to wonder if it was just the new beds that came with Kids Room Stuff.

Stick: *Sigh* Jazz, I love you sweetie but you really need to stop making this stuff up. Remember when you were younger and I told you the story about the boy who cried wolf? I will always protect you as long as I can, honey, but you can't get attention by lying. Your mother, siblings and I need sleep, it's not polite to wake everybody up in the middle of the night because of something that's not real.

Jazz: It IS real, daddy! It has tentacles! And smoke comes out from under the bed whenever the monster comes out!

Stick: That's enough, Jazz. I've sprayed, you're safe. Go back to bed.

Jazz: Ok, daddy. Thank you. I love you!

Stick: I love you too, Jazz.

Stick will always be a pushover when it comes to his little girls. He may not like being woken up/kept up late at night, but he will never complain about the hugs <3

Oh. Nope. It's every bed. FOR FRACKS SAKE >.<

Stick: Holy crap! What IS that thing?! Jazz was right all along! *Sprays frantically*

Didi: Thanks dad! I can sleep again...for tonight anyway!

Stick: You're welcome, Didi. Hey...why are you wearing glasses to bed when you don't wear them every day? And shoes...why are you wearing shoes to bed? Did I miss the latest memo on the latest fashion trends?

Beebe decided to invite someone over the next day. I've decided that the first friend the kids invite over, if any, will be their hopeful spouse. Beebe's spouse of choice is this cute dude named Wolfgang. I am OBSESSED with him! He also went straight for the nursery and even started pitching in! Beebe sees the fatherly potential in him. Beebe approves.

Beebe: What can I say? I know how to pick 'em! He's gonna be an EXCELLENT father to all 10 of our children!

Wolfgang: What was that, Beebs?

Beebe: Nothing!

They're pretty darn cute together if I do say so myself! Both were pretty instantly smitten.

The time came for Helga to pop out of her bassinet! She was given the Whiz Kid aspiration and the Geek trait. Also, she's ADORABLE. Also adorable is her cute little Voidcritters hoodie which you can find here! There is one for every critter :)

The Sticklys got a new fridge because they were getting constant "bad aftertaste" and "bad fridge smell" moodlets. It was time for an upgrade. Speaking of upgrades, how GORGEOUS is the new window lighting?! I'm obsessed with it. It really adds some life to the house!

What's this?! Holly's in labor and it's NOT dinnertime?!

Into the nursery she went to bring baby #9 into the world!

And we have ourselves...ANOTHER. FREAKING. GIRL. Everyone say hello to Olga Stickly!

Olga is named after Olga Pataki, Helga's older sister from Hey Arnold!

Stick: Well, babe, what do you say? One more baby?

Holly: One more baby, baby! Let's do this!

And 'do this' they did! Pillows flying and all!

Success! Baby #10 is on its way!

Off she went to notify Stick of their little one on the way! She's excited for another baby and equally excited that it's her last. Now she can focus on raising them and watching them grow!

And that's where we leave things tonight! Tune in next time to find out if Chuckie will remain the only boy as we get one step closer to picking our gen 2 heir! Until then, happy simming!

1.5: Growth

Hey everyone! It's Sunday which means it's time for another Simmer Down 4 What update! Let's see where the Stickly family is today!

Part of Beebe's aspiration requires her to read with an adult for 2 hours so momma Holly gets to do the honors.

Later, big sis Eliza helped her finish the games of chess she needed.

Judy's birthday rolled around! I am at a complete loss where the black hair comes from, but I like her uniqueness! She rolled the social butterfly aspiration along with the perfectionist trait.

Poor Stick came down with some sort of illness :( He was miserable for a few days.

Holly was once again huge. But you'd never know that she's uncomfortable! This woman takes pregnancy like a champ. She truly IS meant to have hundreds of babies!

She is NOT, however, made for cooking. AAAHHH!! Be careful!!

Stick and Holly always make time to eat their meals together whenever possible. True wuv <3

Eliza and Judy did their homework in Beebe's room. Cause why not.

Baby time! Holly ALWAYS goes into labor during meal times.

We interrupt this regularly scheduled birth to announce that Chuckie has officially completed his aspiration! You reach for those stars, little buddy!

Into the nursery Holly went to bring their newest family member into the world!

And it's ANOTHER girl! I'm starting to think Chuckie will be their only boy! Everyone give a warm welcome to Ginger Stickly!

She is named after this little cutie, Ginger Foutley from As Told by Ginger!

That night, when Stick returned from work, he and Holly got to work on baby #7.

As if there were any doubt, it was a success!

Holly had been repairing things enough that she was finally building up a nice collection of upgrade parts.

Chuckie's birthday rolled around and he stepped up to the cake to celebrate!

He turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself. He rolled the freelance botanist aspiration and the self assured trait.

Mom got in some cuddle time with Ginger. Soon enough it would be time for her to age up and baby #7 to arrive!

Stick was at work and her fun need was super low, so she got to spend a little time playing computer games.

As I mentioned before, Ginger's baby days flew by and it was time for her transition to childhood! ANOTHER black haired baby - so strange! Oh well, she's also super cute. Upon aging up, she rolled the whiz kid aspiration and the neat trait.

Poor Holly's pregnancy bladder is hard to keep up with sometimes...she was on her way to the bathroom but didn't quite make it. Sorry Holly :(

As per usual, Holly's labor began during dinner.

I don't remember what happened but she ended up getting super filthy during labor time!

And baby #7 is....ANOTHER. GIRL. Oh my goodness. This little bundle of sugar, spice and everything nice is Didi!

She is named after Didi Pickles, the mom of Tommy and Dil from Rugrats!

The next morning, while the kids were at school, mom and dad FINALLY had some time to tend to the house. It was pretty nasty. Things were broken all over the place and just dirty in general. They tag teamed it pretty well, though, and it didn't take very long!

Upon returning home that night, Beebe received grade level A earning her a completed aspiration!

It was time to get to work on baby # 8, and of course both Stick and Holly were quite alright with that!

Holly was exhausted so she didn't even bother to take a pregnancy test yet. She crashed while daddy tended to Didi's diaper needs.

Eliza decided to help out and made breakfast for everyone the next morning. Gaining some domestic skills early is a good idea in case she's chosen as the heir!

After a night of much needed sleep, Holly was ready to take that pregnancy test. That is the face of well-rested pride - she is officially eating for two!

All the kids had been working so hard on completing aspirations and keeping up with school work to the point that their social needs all tanked. I had them pair off to work on building them back up.

Back inside, Holly put her bawse cooking skills to work and whipped up a chocolate cake for a special celebration!

It was officially Beebe's birthday! She stepped up to take the yummy frosting on the cake mom made her.

She aged up with a very unfortunate case of massive lips. Yikes. She still turned out pretty cute once I gave her a little makeover. But don't get used to this look, it doesn't last.

And that is where we will leave off tonight! Tune in next time to find out what exactly I'm foreshadowing when I say that Beebe's look won't last. Also, tune in to find out if Chuckie is destined to remain the only boy in the family! Until next time, happy simming!
